Car Care Council Wins Two International Awards

Car Care Guides and New Web Site Receive Top Honors

BETHESDA, MD – November 13, 2008 – The Car Care Council has won top honors in the MarCom Awards – an international marketing and communications awards competition – for its Car Care Guides and newly-redesigned Web site. These two key message drivers of the “Be Car Care Aware” consumer education campaign were selected from among more than 5,000 national and international entries.

The popular Car Care Guides were selected by judges for the Platinum Award – the highest honor in the Brochure/Handbook category; the Web site www.carcare.org received the Gold Award in the Web Site Overall category.

MarCom Awards is administered and judged by the Association of Marketing and Communications Professionals. The annual competition recognizes outstanding creative achievement among corporate, Fortune 500s, non-profit marketing and communications departments, advertising agencies, public relations firms, production companies, designers and freelancers.

“We hope the aftermarket companies who have supported and contributed to the success of ‘Be Car Care Aware’ through the Car Care Council will take pride in this recent recognition of their industry’s campaign,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council, and AAIA senior vice president of marketing and member relations. “Not too shabby for a non-profit organization with a small annual operating budget to take home top honors competing against major corporate marketing departments and nationally-known ad and PR agencies.”
