Host an Event

The most popular way to participate in Car Care Months is to sponsor a vehicle check-up
event. These events can be small and conducted by an individual repair facility;
medium-sized and sponsored by several businesses in your area; or a full-blown car
care aware fair with many sponsors and businesses involved, including local radio
stations and newspapers.

How to get started:

The Car Care Months Event Planner has just about everything you need to participate in National Car Care Month in April or Fall Car Care Month in October. It outlines different ways to participate and will show you how to set up a check-up event or car care aware fair.

The Car Care Council also designed a CD & DVD to help businesses learn how to host their own vehicle check-up event during Car Care Months. The DVD is a 12-minute step-by-step demonstration that walks the viewer through the process of planning and hosting the popular consumer vehicle check-up events. The CD includes a comprehensive planning guide, logos, sample press releases, inspection form and brochure samples and ordering information, radio spots, camera-ready ads and more. Single copies of the two-disc set are available for free.

As a participant in Car Care Months, you may request up to 200 free copies of the Car Care Council’s inspection form to use during your event simply by registering on the Web site. If you need additional forms, please let us know and we’ll gladly send them to you. The form is in triplicate: one copy is for you to keep, one is for the customer and the last one is for the Car Care Council. Forms from April events should be submitted to the Car Care Council by June 1, and for fall events by Dec. 1. It is very important to submit forms as the data is then compiled, summarized and distributed.
