Adding Refrigerant
1. Shake can well.
2. Attach charging hose to can making sure handle is turned fully counter clockwise
to prevent premature piercing of the can.
3. Start engine and turn the air conditioner to maximum cool, and connect the quick
couple connector to the low side service port on the vehicle A/C system
4. Turn the handle on the charging hose clockwise until the piercing stem has
punctured the can of R-134a. Now turn the handle counter clockwise until
refrigerant is heard leaving the can.
5. Rotate the top of the can between 12 o’clock and 3 o’clock every 2 to 3 seconds
while continually agitating (shaking) the can back and forth.
6. Continue the process until the can is empty (10 to 15 minutes) or until the correct
amount of refrigerant is charged into the A/C system and the pressure readings
are within the PSI range for the ambient temperature (see chart below). When
the can feels empty, hold it upside down for one minute to remove all refrigerant.
7. After charging refrigerant into the A/C system to the correct pressure (see chart
below) and the R-134a can still contains refrigerant, turn the handle on the
charging hose clockwise until it seals the can. Disconnect the charging hose
from the low side service port on the vehicle and store the R-134a can/charging
hose assembly in a safe location for future use. If the R-134a can is empty,
disconnect the charging hose from the low side service port on the vehicle and
the R-134a can and dispose of the can.

Ambient Pressure: Outside temperature surrounding the vehicle.
IMPORTANT: ALWAYS WEAR PROTECTIVE EYEWEAR WHEN PERFORMING A/C SERICE OR ANY TYPE OF AUTOMOTIVE WORK. DO NOT STORE CAN IN DIRECT
SUNLIGHT OR IN THE PASSANGER COMPARTMENT OF VEHICLE.
