The non-profit Car Care Council has added child seat safety demonstrations to its free vehicle check-up event for Midland-area motorists. The demonstrations will be performed by the Midland police department.
“Because the mission of the Car Care Council is to educate motorists about keeping their vehicles in safe and dependable working condition, free child safety seat demonstrations are a perfect addition to our Oct. 7 Midland event,” said Rich White, executive director, Car Care Council. “A big ‘thank you’ to the Midland police department for helping keep children safe by being a part of this exciting community car care event.”
The Car Care Council’s free vehicle check-up event is a no-cost, no-pressure, no-selling experience. It will be held in conjunction with the 49th Annual Northwood University International Auto Show on Sunday, Oct. 7 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the parking lot of Dow High School at the corner of North Saginaw Road and West Main Street.
In recognition of Fall Car Care Month in October, the event will feature professional technicians performing vehicle inspections including checking oil and coolant levels, tire pressure, filters, hoses, belts and lighting. Motorists will have the opportunity to ask questions of technicians about their vehicle and can talk with aftermarket experts hosting educational demonstrations. Belle Tire will be performing free window chip repairs, and students from Northwood University and Delta College will be onsite to learn and assist with event activities. Gift bags with giveaways will be given to all attendees, including a free copy of the council’s popular Car Care Guide.
Many automotive aftermarket companies have stepped forward to support this free event including sponsors Aftermarket Auto Parts Alliance, Delphi, Federal-Mogul, MAHLE Original Filters, Motown Automotive, PlastiKote, SKF, Standard Motor Products, Tenneco, Trico, Four Seasons, Raybestos Brake & Chassis, Advics, Beck/Arnley, Mitchell 1 and Schaeffler Group USA.
